Most commonly, Osteopaths will treat back pain, but many conditions are improved by Osteopathy such as migraine, sports and work related injury, pregnancy and post-natal strains, digestive problems, unsettled babies, arthritis and muscle and ligament injuries.

Hot stones are silky smooth volcanic rocks called Basalt, they come in different shapes and sizes. The Basalt stones are heated in water and warm oil is applied to the body before the stones are used so they glide over the contours of the body. The magic of the stones lies in the high iron content, which helps them both absorb and transmit the healing power of heat. In the hands of a well trained therapist with awareness of different heat resistant areas on the body, the stones are flipped, turned, tucked and used as 'tools' in producing a thoroughly relaxing deep heated, long lasting massage.
It is like a combination of sunshine on your skin, a hot bath and massage all rolled into one. Warm oil infused with fragrant essential oils stills the mind while aching muscles are pummeled and tensions melt away.

Other aims may include improving range of motion, improving strength and posture, and generally remove tension both physically and mentally.
In clinical massage, the ultimate focus is on achieving real outcomes. There are evidence-based reasons why the therapist uses one technique over another and most importantly, results are measurable.

In terms of many tendon and ligament injuries ultrasound is able to give more accurate information than any other modality. It is also very useful for assessing the dimensions of specific nerves (for example, the Median Nerve in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome).
Additionally ultrasound is unique in that scanning occurs in real-time making it possible to discuss reproduction of symptoms with the patient, and to view dynamic images of the structures under examination.
Ultrasound also allows us to view inflammation and the process of ‘neovascularity’ which can be associated with tendon pain and damage.
